My circle changes as I evolve.
Very few things in life remain the same over time. I am okay with my former life looking different from today’s reality.
I demand greater things from my relationships as I get older and gain more experience. Gone are the days when I focus on superficiality. Purpose drives my associations with others. There is fulfilling value to be gained from interacting with my circle.
There are new things that I discover about myself each day. An unfamiliar situation causes particular traits to come to the surface.
It is important to be honest about what I see in myself and honor that. What I see when I look in the mirror to my soul is authentic. I choose to surround myself with people who appreciate and also reflect that image.
Apologizing for who I am upsets me. I question my choices and actions when I lose sight of my authentic self.
Being popular is hardly a priority for me. It often requires a compromise of beliefs and values. I stay true to what guides my actions in life. When that leads to friends falling by the wayside, I accept it. There is only room for people who love me as I am.
Today, I look forward to life with a wide-open heart and anticipation of fulfilling relationships. I am ready to accept my circle as it grows or shrinks. As long as it represents what I stand for, I am happy to keep it at whatever size.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What has been my most noticeable point of evolution?
2. How difficult is it to step away from relationships that stop nurturing me?
3. What traits do I look for in a friend?
